Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations is a mod based on Armada II. It is a 3D strategy game based upon the Star Trek world that modified the original Armada II experience to make it more enjoyable in multiplayer environments. It has 5 playable races: the United Federation of Plants, the Klingon, the Romulan, the Borg, and the Dominion. Several modifications were made to the game code to achieve a better experience. Now every race has two attacking modes, which the user can choose according to his playing style. There are literally hundreds of new stations and ships. Each ship now gains experience and can level-up to become more powerful. The maps have been redesigned to better support the new gameplay features. Perhaps the most important change this mod accomplishes is a total reworking of the artificial intelligence of both your units and the computer's. It also changes the balance system to make for longer battles and better defense and offense mechanisms. All the units can be upgraded to put offense before defense and the other way around, which changes the balance of the game completely. Fleet Operations includes the latest Armada II patch, version 1.2, and it installs right off your Armada II CD. You do need to have the CD or a working Armada II.exe file for it to work.
